    I had already downloaded the Great Cow version of the program but was unable to run it until johngb supplied the xml files. Looks like a nice tool, quite usable as is, with some cut and paste. A Proton version would be nice.

    I don't know what Lock and Unlock mean, is this a GC Basic command or is an MPASM command?
    They're GCB macros. They translate to:
    Code:
    macro UNLOCKPPS
        dim IntState as bit
        IntState = GIE
        GIE = 0
        PPSLOCK = 0x55
        PPSLOCK = 0xAA
        PPSLOCKED = 0x00  'unlock PPS
    end macro

    macro LOCKPPS
        PPSLOCK = 0x55
        PPSLOCK = 0xAA
        PPSLOCKED = 0x01  'lock PPS
        GIE = IntState
    end macro
    I've been able to modify the vb source files from https://sourceforge.net/projects/pps-tool/files/ to work with other basic compilers, so changing it for Proton shouldn't be much work at all.

    I maybe wrong as it has been a couple of years since I have done anything with a device using PPS but I seem to recall you have to do something unlock like the PPS setting/registers before you can modify them, and them lock them afterwards.

    Yes I had a look at the VB code and it looked pretty straight forward to change. Don't have VB installed here and not used VB for years now. Are you offering to make the changes tumbleweed? If we can get the outline drawing going for the 24/33 devices it should be able to completely replace my PPS Wizard.

    I think I'd have to say no to that right now. I've modified the app for 8-bit devices, John.

    I've only glanced at it briefly but I think it would be a lot more work for the 16-bit devices.
