    Default Possible programming problem

Hi, this is the first question I post to this forum and I hope that it is not asked already. I see that there are processors like the 16FL628A and I would like to use it especially for 3.3 volt operation. Using the compiler I see that I get a remark that this device is not supported. But is it possble to just fill in a supported device (16F628A) or is this a too simple used "solution". If this is not possible, what is the reasoning behind it ?
Thanks in advance to the people who want to help me. Regards, Teus Brand.

Usually LF devices are functionally identical to the F version. You may have a problem with the PIC device programmer expecting 16F628A but identifying 16LF628 or maybe not.

Found the following on Microchip forum
IIRC, there is no separate MPLAB entry for the 16LF628A, you use the 16F628A. Unlike later LF revisions there is no unique DevID for the LF part and there is also no effective difference except for the electrical characteristics at the end of the data sheet. The data sheet for the 16LF628A is the same data sheet as the 16F628A.
Edit. also no entry for 16LF628A in Pickit2 dat file.

Also look at 16F690 (for example), standard part has huge Vdd range, all the way down to 2 volts at 8MHz
