    Default Tester posting Binary Notation

    Here is a test posting of binary notation

    %00110000

    %0101010101010101

    %00011100

    Here's a test without previewing

    Code:
        TRISA = %00000011
        TRISB = %00110001                            ' Quadrature inputs, Int0
        TRISC = %00000000
    another line for testing

    Now another one using preview

    Code:
        TRISA = 000011
        TRISB = 110001                            ' Quadrature inputs, Int0
        TRISC = 000000
    and another line

    So the moral of the story is "Don't use preview when there is binary code to be displayed"

    Or use Hexadecimal, which IMO is much neater and easier to read as you only have to deal with 4 bits at a time.
    Which is especially useful with Word & Long Word values where it is very easy to misread a the bit before or after the one you want by mistake when the value or register setting is presented as binary.

    Or, remember to correct the binary notation before committing the post.

    Valid points Stephen, especially for word or dword.
    However I do find it easier when setting registers from the datasheet to use binary. The grey cells struggle to visualise a hex digit into its 4 bits and remember what I'm trying to do with it.. Short term memory isn't as it was.

    Test message using code

    Code:
    GetMute:
               DelayUS 20 ' Charging time ADC
               MuteVal = ADIn 0                 ' Pin 1 is ADC2 input @ 16F1827
               If MuteVal > 205 Then ' if more than 1V then mute open
                  Muted = 0
               Else
                  Muted = 1                     ' mute closed
               EndIf
    Return
    Above was done with code using # in advanced afterwards by highlighting the code first

    Code:
    GetMute:
               DelayUS 20 ' Charging time ADC
               MuteVal = ADIn 0                 ' Pin 1 is ADC2 input @ 16F1827
               If MuteVal > 205 Then ' if more than 1V then mute open
                  Muted = 0
               Else
                  Muted = 1                     ' mute closed
               EndIf
    Return
    This one was done using code # in first then inserting the code between the html.

    Testing only
