    Great progress Gary.
I am almost halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne near the coast. I love NZ. Been a couple of times and we might go again - we have 200,000 Qantas points to use up and we can't think of a better place, although we try not to talk about underarm bowling
All the best from across the ditch
    John

    Hi John,
One of the problems here is they charge like wounded buffalo for accommodation, & anything else tourists like to do.
I suppose you know that already. Anyway the airfare will balance it out.
    Cheers,
    Gary

    Hi Dolci,
I can see that would work. I will give it a test sometime. I solved mine by making the string longer & then texting the number with inverted commas each side. So the inverted commas are saved in string, which is then saved in EEPROM. Unfortunately I had to change to an 18F chip & I had some boards made already for the 16F690 chip. As far as I can see there is only 2 18F 20 pin chips, & of coarse the interrupt pins are different, so I will have to cut some tracks & wire the changes. Thanks for your input. I have got my Siglent scope to decode the serial coms & show the decode in ASCII, which makes diagnostics easier sometimes.
