Exclamation Philips RC5_Toggle Bit and Pulse Timings

I had two remote controls of Philips TV RM-120C. They are Chinese made but from different companies.

I made a simple remote program from manual RC5 example. One remote works fine but other works intermittently i.e. if I press button for some long time of two three four seconds then related button code executes.

I checked the IR pulses with IR Analyzer and there are slightly timing difference between two remotes. Strange thing is this that which remote seems more precise that does not work properly. I can show images of Timings.

Other problem is RC5_Toggle Bit. I tried to cop it with Dim RC5_Toggle as Byte System but no success. Looking Lester to look into the Timings matter. Thanks.

The RC5 system is very well described in Wikipedia. The timings in the article could be a good place to start.
As you know most remote controller failures are in the buttons that lose their carbon coating.

Unfortunately I don't know enough to help. There are others on the forum who have used the protocol so hopefully they will contribute when they see this thread.
Is it imagination but the lower device seems to have slower rise and fall times? Also, I assume the lower height is just due to the vertical amplifier setting on channel 2 of the oscilloscope.

Thanks John, What I guessed is not the problem of rise or fall times. That is due to IR Tx and Rx diodes.
It is only the difference of time duration. i.e. 917us vs 896us and 1854us vs 1771us.
917us works fine but other does not.

Anybody please let me know how to take control of RC5_Toggle Bit to make Toggle function. Thanks.

    Dear Norm,

Philips RC5 Protocol has built in Toggle Bit. I want to use it to check if a button is pressed continuously or pressed again after releasing button.

The following link has RC5_Toggle built in RC5In Command but I could not take control of it by different efforts. It is possible but how?

Can I modified the RC5 code by Les in the following link for PIC16F877A?

    http://www.protonbasic.co.uk/showthr...ght=rc5_toggle

If so then I can experiment with Micro Timings of IR Signal. Thanks.
