    Default Serial EEproms

I tried making an adapter for programming 24xx series EEproms according to the information in HELP.README but it keeps failing with the error "Programming failed at address 0x000000". I've tried both Pickit 2 and 3, tried different programming voltages, tried 24AA64, 24AA512, and 24AA1025, but no luck so far. I've got WP and all of the address pins tied to ground. I started with a 2K ohm pullup on SDA. Tried adding a pullup to SCL. Tried checking and unchecking the chip select boxes in Pickit 2/3 plus. Has anyone gotten this to work?

    Thanks.

    -Rick

Can I check? What version of software and the parts. Database?

I verified in the past but post version info please before I retest.

    Cheers

    Hi Evan-
Sorry- I should have included that info. The application is 4.61.0.40 and the device file is 2.63.197.
I also tried Microchip's Pickit 2 software 2.61.00 and device file 1.63.146 and it didn't work either. I'm beginning to wonder if there might be an error in the HELP>README file which is where I got the info for the EEprom adapter.

I have just sent you the latest build. Then, we are on the same code and database.

    Try the latest build.

I have just tried 24AA1026. Works OK here. I have video but this will not help you. I simply placed into the EEPROM socket, pulled the SDA and SCL to high with two 2.2K resistors. Writes and verifies.

    I would advise
latest build of PICkitPlus then test. Then, I2C discovery (got a program that does that?) to ensure you are able to see the EEPROM on the i2C bus.

Thanks for the quick responses, Evan!
Turns out that one end of the pullup resistor on SDA was not soldered well.

All good now. Everything is working fine.
