    Default New dsPIC33CH512MP508 100 MHz Dual-Core 16-bit DSC

All devices in the dsPIC33C family include a fully featured set of functional safety hardware to ease ASIL-B and ASIL-C certifications in safety-critical applications. Functional safety features include multiple redundant clock sources, Fail Safe Clock Monitor (FSCM), IO ports read-back, Flash Error Correction Code (ECC), RAM Built-In Self-Test (BIST), write protection, analog peripheral redundancies and more. A robust set of CAN-FD peripherals, along with the new support for 150C operation, make these devices ideally suited for use in extreme operating conditions such as under-the-hood automotive applications.

Also a cost-optimized single core version for applications that require smaller memory and footprint for a complete family:

New PIC's are usually supported by PDS sometime after the final product is out due to changes Microchip may make.

There is news on the possibility of using dsPic33CH or dsPic33CK with proton?
    Thank you Alex

A dual core would work well with one core reading an SD card and the second the app i.e. music, slides and possibly video.
A chip such as this in PDS could keep me from dark side searches for a faster chip in awful C.

At the moment, IMO, this is one of the experiments by some Microchip nerds to try and add a second core. But..... It does not quite come up to standard, and I will wait for the next generation of them before I start looking into them. They have a lot of querks and faults at the moment.
