    HID devices use the generic Windows driver. As such they dont by default use FreindlyNames, so when viewed in DeviceManager, its quite difficult to differentiate between HID devices, unless you plug/unplug to identify the new device, or you go through each HID device looking at the VID/PID - there maybe other ways, but thats what i see most people doing.

    You can though, change or assign names to a HID dveice, - which is what I do since i have many HID devices in and out of my Windows system from time to time and I want to quickly and easily identify whats in and whats not -

    Here is a Tutorial that explains how to assign a FreindlyName to a Genric HID device

    You will need to ensure you have permission to edit the entry.
