Thanks for the input
D_DumpingLED - I intended that you would set it either true (if you had a LED) or false (if you did not). Can you try that and let me know.
Full paths to include files - The problem I have with one location includes is that if an include is used for a particular project and subsequently modified, it is no longer possible to recreate the original project byte-for-byte. Do you have any view on that? That said, I will add a flag to the next release that will allow that behavior.
Do you use HexTag?Last edited by towlerg; 1st January 2019 at 16:25.

Didn't need a flag in the end, either use paths or not, as you choose. Can also use parial paths eg. Include "\backup\TestInclude.inc". Let me know how you get on.

George you made it. The path of an include file is accepted and I don't have to copy the include files anymore!
Sometimes I change my include files with extra functions but always leave the old functions. And with the #ifMacro- you can suppress code generation for not used macro's. And the old program don't use the new function so no code is generated.
The LED 'challenge', in the demo file the code is
Code:$define D_DumpingLED True ' True to use a SnapShot indicator LED ... ... ... '****************** Configuration ******************************* ' You'll want to include some or all of these definitions in the code under test ... ... $if D_DumpingLED = True Symbol D_DumpLED = PORTA.4 ' default location for D_DumpingLED $endif
Code:$ifdef D_DumpLED Output D_DumpLED ' if we have a LED, turn it on Set D_DumpLED $endif
I haven't used HexTag but when my project is ready I give it a try.
George thanks again for your SnapShot program. It is a real enrichment for me now that I have worked with it for a while.

Thanks for the info. I probably should try to track down the LED problem but it's one of those things that seemed like a good idea which in practice is pointless. I will probably remove all reference to it. Do you have a view on this?

Hi George, I doesn't use the LED feature because when the Dump starts, I see it instantly in the SnapShot window. So when you remove it there is less to configure, and less is better (I think).
But it is more intriguing that this construction no longer works. I used it some time ago (1 year or more??) and it worked then.
Theoretically it is correct, the preprocessor knows nothing about symbols and only substitutes texts.
Johan
PS Perhaps you can upload your last readme.docx, it was very helpfull for me to get SnapShot working. It could be helpfull for others too.

I'm doing a few tweaks at the moment. Will update documentation and help file when I make next release.
