    Hi Les
This morning I update Proton compiler to the last version, but unfortunately doesn't work.
In my project it stopped working properly the graphic display and the A/D converter (but maybe also other function, because I see a wrong read of parameter from the eeprom to ram memory).
I upload all the files (zipped) of my program and the schematics for your reference. (In the schematics the reference is 18F458, but now, to increase the memory, I am using the 18F47K40.) Ihope you receive the file correctly.
I come back to 3.6.2.7 version, I add "Symbol PP_EEPGD = 7" at the beginning of the program, and all seems to works properly.
    Best regards, Valter

Many thanks for the code Valter.

I'm busy looking into the code now. I cannot test the code physically, so what section is not working? The eeprom to RAM via Ereads?

    Hi Les
    The problems are:
    - I read from eeprom some parameters, this new version read wrong value, but I don't understand where the error is, because I can not see these value, due to the second error:
    - In my program to set the parameters, I use some routines that write in the display a explanation of the parameter. The phrase are written in code (CDATA), and send them to the display with CREAD. See "Messaggi.inc".
    - The A/D converter value is "blocked" in saturation. Maybe this new version need other preset, I don't look at this.
P.S.: I have no basis for asserting the following, but I have the feeling that there is some wrong jump in the pages of memory, which causes generic errors in various pieces of the program.
    Best regards, Valter

Unfortunately, with such a large program I cannot test or see everything that is happening.

Changing from one device to another is always a problem, especially when the device is of a different family. I've just tested Both Print and ADin with the 18F47K40 device and they both work. I tested print while reading from code memory and it also works.

When moving from one family device to another, it must be done in stages. So create small programs that test the peripherals used in the large program, and teak them until the peripherals are setup correctly for the specific device. The 18F K devices are 18F devices, but are, essentially, a different family of devices and a lot has changed in them, peripheral wise.

    Hi Les
Your suggestion is absolutely correct, and that's exactly what I did, migrating from PIC18F458 to PIC18F47K40.
After testing and tuning the individual program pieces, with version 3.6.2.7 everything run perfectly, except for the "Symbol PP_EEPGD = 7" declaration.
Unfortunately, the same program, compiled with version 3.7.0.3 presents the problems I have exposed to you.
At the moment I'm working with version 3.6.2.7, I am adding other software, and everything run properly.
    I'm only wondering:
    - Is "Symbol PP_EEPGD = 7" declaration correct?
    - Could it happen that when I increase the size of the code, other problems arise?
    Best regards, Valter

    Hi Les
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Proton (3.7.0.6), I have removed the declaration "PP_EEPGD=7" from my program and no errors appears during the complilation.
All seems works like version 3.6.2.7.
Unfortunately other problems have appeared, that I will expose you in another thread (problems with PIC18F47K40 and Hserout).
    Best regards, Valter
