Default Proposed modifications to my Amicus18 board

    Input most welcome

    1. Use different devices.
    Fit zif socket
    2. Use different crystals and matched capacitors or use internal.
Remove crystal and capacitors and replace with 3 pin female header
    3. Easier voltage selection.
Fit pins for jumpers or fit a change over switch
    4. Attempt NC-05 bluetooth bootloader for 3.3v and 5v operation

Windows 10 FTDI unsigned driver installation problems
Note: I do have the unsigned driver installed on my machine, but I did it that long ago wouldn't know how to explain how to do it.
Or revert the FTDI usb chip to defaults and use the official signed driver, so anybody can set up the board. (Help required)
Change the Amicus18 bootloader application to use any port and baudrate.
Note: This version works if you can get the unsigned driver installed, using the standard bootloader.

    Very nice!
Can the NC-05 bluetooth Serial work on 115200 Bauds for the bootloader?

Yes, I'm using the original Amicus PIC bootloader, I have made a new P.C. bootloader application to use any port.
The NC-05 bluetooth serial shows up in Windows as two standard serial ports, using highest com number of both, low number will crash app.

Dave, I can only find examples of HC-05 not NC-05 for sale. Is NC-05 another version of HC-05?

    Hi Charlie

Ebay link, one of many for sale.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-S...ff5927|iid%3A1

You could use a NC-06 the set up will differ from below.

I set it up using the Amicus Board running at 3.3v
Note: I'm running win10 with the unsigned driver installed and working.

    1. Remove Amicus chip
    2. Connect
    AMICUS NC-05
    TX/RC6 TO TX
    RX/RC7 TO RX
    3V3 TO +5V
    GRD TO GRD

3.Hold down the pushbutton on the HC-05 and apply power, (Plug in USB cable.
The LED on the HC-05 module will begin to blink on and off very slowly.

    4.Use a Serial Terminal Program
Set baud rate to 38400 and line endings are set to be "Both NL & CR"

    AT+ORGL
    AT+ROLE=0
    AT+POLAR=1,0
    AT+PSWD=0000
    AT+NAME=AMICUS18-HC-05A
    AT+UART=115200,0,0
    AT+INIT

    Commands are
    Reset to factory settings
    Switch to slave role
    LED and connection status
    Change the password to 0000
    Rename to AMICUS18-HC-05A
    Set UART to 115200 baud
    initialise the device
    Ready to Pair

    5.Change
    TX/RC6 TO RX
    RX/RC7 TO TX

    6.Refit Amicus chip

7.Pair the NC-05 in Win and enter the password 0000

You should see the serial port in device manager, ready to use.
    Regards
    Dave
