    Les,

A while ago you mentioned producing a DIY version of the Amicus18 board - all through-the-hole components etc. I wondered if this would be an option for the Amicus24. Certainly a lot cheaper to produce than a fully built board and, as far as I'm concerned, a lot more fun. Just a passing thought.

    Bob

Unfortunately, lack of funds stop me from doing that now Bob.

The Amicus24 board would have been brilliant because the PIC24 devices are very easy to use, and are incredibly powerful for their price. The compiler also makes them crazy easy to master!

I'll release the circuit of the Amicsu24 that I did, and if anyone wants to produce a through hole version of it, then they are very welcome to do so, and I'll support it in any way I can.

How about a surface-mount version? Almost no one pull the chip out of the socket, it might as well be soldered down. This give more space for other parts.

I would be interested in building and marketing an Amicus24 board.

The point of the AMicsu24 with its socket is that it could be used for any 28-pin PIC24 or dsPIC device. It even has 2 jumpers so that programming of all the devices could be accomplished with a PICkit3, because PIC24H and PIC24F and PIC24E devices have different pins for programming.
