    Default Help With OLED Display / 128X64 SSD1306

    Hi,
    I would like to share my work for this nice Display...

    I have made a program for a pic 33FJ64MC802 to show some text, numbers and pictures. Its still in progress and many wishes left... I do have some questions which i hope can share with you guys. (I have tied the display to my microstick to get started).

    At first i would like to draw a arrow on the screen and rotate this between 0-360 degrees. How would you guys do this? I was thinking of creating 36 images (10 degrees res) and show these when requested. Doesn't sound very fancy i ques. How can i do this with mathematics to calculate the desired pixels on or off?

    If its better to start a new post in the proton24 sections please let me know?

    I've moved the post for you.

    Thanks for posting this basparky, I tried it on a 24FJ64A004 and it worked first time, not often that happens!

    I wanted to make a few changes to get this working on hardware i2c and possibly some other things.

    I just wanted to check that no one else has produced anything else for using the SSD1306 i2c with Proton24 before I did anything as this was posted quite a while ago.

    I noticed that there is some more recent code posted by Dompie on the wiki for the 8 bit compiler which looked very good but I found it a bit difficult to follow. I did a quick try making a few changes to compile it with Proton24 but it gave a number of errors that I wasn't sure how to overcome.

    Anyway I just wanted to check if anybody had a complete working solution for Proton24 before I did anything.

    Hi basparky,
    Time for that Wiki article, it's too useful to have it lost in the forum.
    Cheers

    I've been working on adapting this to work with hardware i2c and also to use variable width fonts.

    I will post some proper examples when I tidy things up and add some extra stuff but so far so good.

    Hello Basparky

    Thank you for your library on the SSD1306 with the Pic 24, It works perfectly however if I try and print out the co-ordinates for say a GPS which uses a combination of Numbers and characters they I get funny characters out. I have tried modifying the SHOWNUMBER in the PROC.inc file by removing the Dig Command but, I still don't quite get the right data out. How should I go about getting a combination of the correct Characters and numbers out, Do I need
    to make a new Procedure by doing a combination of ShowNumber and ShowChar Procedures or what will be the best way?
    Any help in the right direction will be very much appreciated!

    Proc ShowNumber(TextFont As String * 10,pNumber As Word,Page As Byte, Column As Byte)
    Dim i As Byte
    Dim j As Byte
    Dim Digit[4] As Byte

    Select TextFont
    Case "Ascii"
    Digit[3] = (pNumber/0) + 16 ' (Dig pNumber,0) + 16 ' "ORIGINAL Sequence"
    Digit[2] = (pNumber/1) + 16 ' (Dig pNumber,1) + 16 ' "ORIGINAL Sequence"
    Digit[1] = (pNumber/2) + 16 ' (Dig pNumber,2) + 16 ' "ORIGINAL Sequence"
    Digit[0] = (pNumber/3) + 16 ' (Dig pNumber,3) + 16 ' "ORIGINAL Sequence"

    For i = 0 To 3
    ShowChar(TextFont,Digit[i],Page,Column)
    Column = Column + 6
    Next

    Kind Regards

    Craig
