Default Proton 24 DMA problem.

    Before I say the B** word, could somebody please try this code and tell me if they get a compile error please?
Device = 24HJ128GP502

    Dim MyArray[10] As Word DMA
When I try to compile, I get the error message "Device does not contain DMA!"

    Yep, I get the same error. Have a look at the PPI file, it says...

    DMA=0 ; Amount of DMA peripherals

    Changing it to 1 removes the error message. The datasheet seems to suggest 8 channels are available. I've no idea if any other alterations need to be made.

    Thanks for confirming that Bob. I think I should post it as a b**. I could just mod the PPI file as you mentioned, but there might be another issue, or reason that DMA = 0

    Regards
    John

    I tried to change the DMA from 0 to 8 in the PPI file as you suggested Bob, seems logical in the absence of any support at the moment, but it didn't make any difference.

    Not a lot of info in the manual about it, and no working code examples to try.

    John,

    The little snippet of code you supplied compiles on my machine if I use the line...

    DMA=8 ; Amount of DMA peripherals

    in the PPI file. I take it that yours does not. Is this the case?

    Bob

    Sorry John, just seen your other post and you answer my question there.
