Default Cannot compile in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit environment

I tried to post before, please forgive me if this is a duplicate. I successfully downloaded and installed compiler version 3.5.2.7 and updated the sparkey device driver from the windows 7 64 folder provided. The device manager is reporting that the sparkey is OK and the key's light is on, but I cannot compile.

The are no clues or error messages to suggest what is wrong.

Hi, its great to see you visiting our forum. Why not try Proton Compiler for FREE?

Download the FREE version of Proton Compiler, Its called Amicus18 and its available from HERE

Already using proton Compiler??? Get rid of these pesky messages... get LICENSED USER STATUS

    Any Ideas?

Thanks for the reply Joe and thanks for reminding me. I forgot to load MPLABS but still no joy. I am now in contact with Crownhill to resolve this problem.

    Hello Dave

Did you had any reply from Crownhill by now? I bought the Development suit last month and I have the same problem.
I use also windows 7 64bit. And I cannot compile. At the bottom of the editor window I get the massage "Error: USB Key not found"
But as far as I can see the key is working properly.

Register your copy to get full access to the forum. Then you will be able to download the latest version of the compiler and the 64bit drivers, which I can confirm work fine in Win7 64bit

I also run Win7 prof 64, no Probs....Check in control panel device hardware to see is spark key or an unreconised USB device is shown.

    Hi Maverick
I did apply for the registration last week but I did not get any replay from Proton yet.

    Thanks

On the advice of Crownhill I downloaded the non-beta version of 32 bit Proton compiler and it seems to work without problems.
