Smile Erratic LCD16*2 with PIC18: FIX with symbol update/reload (ISIS Beta 7.8 SP0)

    Colleagues,

I have been transferring BAS code from PIC16F648A (generated by PDS 3.1.0.9), simulated on ISIS 6.8 SP4.

I am now compiling with PDS Beta (latest 3.5.2.1) for PIC18F14K22, simulating on ISIS Beta 7.8 SP0. (I am past my update time limit, even though I purchased extension).

I have been chasing erratic LCD (LM016L) behaviour.
    - tried debugging Les's ASM etc, but could not find any reason for erratic corrupted display
    - I have just UPDATED the simulation symbols from the library on my ISIS schematic.
    - problem is MUCH reduced. Just occasional stray characters, but NOT scrolling wrong lines etc, as previously.

So my TIP is, use latest symbols from your library, if you have any simulation problems.

    Alan.

    Colleagues,

Just a short update to above post (which for some reason I can't edit):
    - before I changed symbols, I updated my actual PIC16 H/W to PIC18
    - the code & LCD worked fine, so it had to be the ISIS simulator
    - I then thought of checking to see if the symbols had changed between ISIS versions (to cope with "fancier" fetures of later ISIS)
    - it "worked"

    Alan.
