Sorted Delphi XE out by re-installing from the Download rather than the media disk. Pretty rubbish supplying a media disk which wont install properly!
Also now installed Delphi 2007 with all the necessary add ins so can now support my exisiting crop of Plugins. For me converting to XE all my existing plugins is going to be a long job and offer no tangible benefit as far as I can see. In fact I read that program size can go up by a factor of 2.

Hi, its great to see you visiting our forum. Why not try Proton Compiler for FREE?

Download the FREE version of Proton Compiler, Its called Amicus18 and its available from HERE

Already using proton Compiler??? Get rid of these pesky messages... get LICENSED USER STATUS

I will stick with D2007 and Chars at present - I wonder if David will ever bring out a 64bit version of the mcPlugInMgr.dll - I doubt it somehow.

There is a lazarus app that reduces file sizes, a 64 bit app that was 11.1 MB reduced to about 2MB, I think it would work on a Delphi app is called strip.exe, you would need to install Lazarus the file is located in
    C:\lazarus\fpc\2.4.4\bin\x86_64-win64\strip.exe

I might give it try. Got a bit more configuring to do with current machine first.

I think you will need this this fix it applies to Delphi 2007 and 2009, I have just patched Delphi 2009 and it now doesn't crash in Win7 64 bit.
