The free version that you can use as a try-before-you-buy Proton is here http://www.myamicus.co.uk/forum.php It's only limitations is that it can only compile 18F25K22 and 18F25K20. You do NOT have to buy the Amicus18 hardware platform, the compiler/ide is the free version of Proton, this is intended for the purpose of try-before-you-buy. Enjoy and have fun!

Hi, its great to see you visiting our forum. Why not try Proton Compiler for FREE?

Download the FREE version of Proton Compiler, Its called Amicus18 and its available from HERE

Already using proton Compiler??? Get rid of these pesky messages... get LICENSED USER STATUS

I don't expect support but help from other forum users. It's OK that I have to buy it. And I will also do so, but why then this product? How can I know it's so good to buy it? I must test it before buying it (with full features).

It is ok. Now you know that that is an illegal version full of bugs. How can you try a product not yet released to public? Download Amicus18 instead and give it a try as Gary suggested.

Matej, i'm sorry to hear that you thought you had downloaded a legal copy of the PDS (compiler). Its a big problem for you and other legal users , when these downloads are allowed and they present the product as free. Its very bad form. (maybe you can PM me a link to the download, i maybe able to have it removed)

However, you have been very honest and clearly you understand the mistake. So I hope that you drop the pirate compiler and use the FREE legal version available for download from www.myamicus.co.uk.

Looking at your project, it seems to me that it would be a great project for the Amicus18 platform using the FREE Proton Compiler.

So here is a deal, just for you:
Complete the project and write an article, with photographs, schematics and code examples, so that it can be published in the user projects section of the www.myamicus.co.uk web site and

CROWNHILL will donate to you an AMICUS18 kit and companion shield.
Simply complete the project and full documentation so that others can learn from it and construct something similar. Then contact me when its ready to be published, send me a copy and I'll ensure that the AMICUS18 kit and companion shield is sent to you, at our cost.

This will cost you a little time, but will enable you to become a legal member of the Proton Basic community and help others along the way with your interesting project.

I'm looking forward to seeing your project published on our web site!

So, since the last my post I was a little suprised about a illegal copy of the compiler. I have used it couple of years ago (It was version 2.x as I can remember - on my company computer). This copy was taken from a website half a year ago. I don't know where, but It was a discusion about a free basic compiler and a link to this compiler. It was full software with no limits (no beta signs inside). So I asumed that the software is free.

I have googled the term "proton PDS" and It's really only full version when you buy it. Sorry, I didn't know it.

About the offer, you have made about the project and the amicus kit. I'm really glad. Thank you. But the only reason why I have something about it, that support only 18f series od uC. I'm using PIC with assembler in 12fxxx,16fxxx,...

What is the price for the compiler only(without simulator)? I have a programmer from microchip (pickit2), which cost by us about 75€. It is a realy good ICS programmer.
Please tell me the price. If the the price is too high (for my needs) I will come back to your offer. If not, I will buy the compiler and publish the project here. If you are also interested in both, I will also do so.

Really (I really mean it) thanks and BR.

    Matej
