Hey, Im gona buy the proton dev board (the best one of course)

But im gona need it for easy portability so im wondering is it USB programmable? instead of serial? or using a serial-usb adapter?

Hi, its great to see you visiting our forum. Why not try Proton Compiler for FREE?

Download the FREE version of Proton Compiler, Its called Amicus18 and its available from HERE

Already using proton Compiler??? Get rid of these pesky messages... get LICENSED USER STATUS

Also are the PIC's changable to test code on a diffrent PIC?

    Thanks alot.

Hi Jay, see the last few posts on basic tutorial etc.. there is a bit of info at the end..
    usb serial, no worries !
Changing pics, within reason, YES !, I use the 452 and 4620.. (18F) .. see the notes in the thread above...

I like the zif option, also note the header for icsp is not directly pickit2 pluggable, but can be altered or a jumper lead made.
If you go for something like the 4620, then add the 470ohm resistor to the blank (linked) D5, also the 47K from lvp to gnd...
Get the breadboard option, and if you can, the glcd and 2 line units..

One of the great features is that if you add the bread board, the through holes come out on the underside of where the breaboard covers, meaing, the development area is not used, this allows a super amount of stuff to be added under the board, I have added a ds1307, icsp pickit2 header, and a few fets for experimental uses..

    a great board
