Thread: USB key with Windows 7

  1. #1

Smile USB key with Windows 7

I have installed Windows RC 7 in 64 bit mode and had problems with the driver for the Sparkey not installing.

I downloaded the 64 drivers from the "BETA" and unzipped them.

Updated the driver by browsing to the folder.

The 32 bit driver also works, as a stand-alone clean installation, dual boot system (with winXP), and running Windoze 7 as a virtual PC in VMWare in Windoze XP..

Keep in mind thet Windows 7 is basically a reworked Vista. and that present version of Windoze 7 is a release candidate and may be subject to change. With MickySoft, the unexpected can and does happen, usually at the most inappropriate time.

I go along with that Bill9399, I had a few problems installing PDS because I was updating from old version.
Installed from original CD then did the update from there.

Do you know whether it can be installed direct from "beta"? without the need to install the original.........

You can install direct from the beta exe file but this doesn't create the program files>Crownhill>PDS directory. You have to create this yourself, if doing a clean, install and copy the appropriate files to this directory.
If the directory exists, you still have to copy the updated files to this.

Just to let you know I got it running on W7:
copy .sys and .inf files to System32 and then update the driver for the dongle again. Also Proton has to be run in Compatibility Mode. In-fact W7 offered this itself after the program failed to compile and I closed it.

I haven't tested the pic yet, but it does compile ok.

Go enter your invoice number in the required field and become a licensed user.

The instructions are on the wiki.

I have three boxes, three disks, and three dongles, but can't find anything with any invoice number written on it. I have copies of two of the order receipts and no invoice number there either. Can someone over there just look me up and send me the x64 drivers?

    Read the instructions here: http://wiki.picbasic.org/index.php?n...orumUserStatus

Then wait unless someone can send you the drivers before.

Same problem here. Got my version second hand. After emailing the guy I bought it from I never got any response.
So I used to get it working on XP, but now my development machine is 7 and I can't upgrade my status because some lousy *** refuses to send me the invoice number. Please somebody help me!
