I would like to say thank you to everyone who has used my configurator and found it to be worthy of their use and for the resulting positive feedback and support.
An updated version with a few bug fixes does exist but will not be released as collaboration with JohnB has resulted in an updated version of his configurator that now supports all the devices Proton supports, 18F and non 18F alike.

Hi, its great to see you visiting our forum. Why not try Proton Compiler for FREE?

Download the FREE version of Proton Compiler, Its called Amicus18 and its available from HERE

Thanks, the updated JohnB config does list the defualt fuses for non 18F devices when it loads or you press the reset button so you could make a note of them as a comment in your .BAS file before you make changes.
If you (or anyone else) still wants to use my configurator them PM me and I will send the lastest and last version to you as an attachment or upload it somewhere but I will not be making any more updates or bug fixes to it.

I could possibly add a marker in the Hint PopUp to identify the default value. Would that help?

It would be greatly appreciated, but please don't put yoirself out over it. It was just something I found useful, but if i'm a minority, then don't worry.
Fuses and interrupts are where I usually have problems, and the 2 configurators have been a great help

    Thanks
    John

Before you go relying on what is considered to be the default you need to check the data sheet for the device your using. By the time you have done that you could have ticked a 100 boxes and been sure you set up the device correctly.

Or you will be coming back saying I wasted hours because you got it wrong.....

I have built a version which sets the description color for the default fuse to maroon rather than blue.

However, as Tim suggests, these defaults are only suggested defaults derived from our observations of the data sheets and are NOT guaranteed. You should always refer to the data sheet for the actual default values. (Although I have to say that in some cases these are not even stated in the data sheet).

I will publish this update only with the above caveat!

I appreciate what you are saying Tim, It was just a suggestion I'm not going to hold it against the software if the defaults do not suit every application.
