Default Proton Development Board and PicKit2

Hi, this is my first post so excuse me if it's a bit lame:

Does the PicKit2 connect directly to the pins on the Proton Development Board for ICSP, or do I need a cable between the two?

I know about the bootloader on the supplied 16F877 & will use it for initial prototyping, but I will need to program my own bootloader onto subsequent PICs.

    Cheers,
    Chrisall.

    Welcome chrisall,

Its not a lame question at all. looking at the Proton Development Board it looks like a 10 pin header. The pickit2 has a 6 pin Single inline pine header. You would have to make some type of cable to connect the two.Which is not hard to do.

Thanks, yeah I can see the details in the manual now I've studied it. I have a 2x10 IDC header & some ribbon cable, so I just need a 1x6 header for the PicKit & we should be in business.

    Thanks again,
    Chrisall.
