    Sounds like you have an incomplete or incorrect install of the IDE.
    Do you have any other plug-ins available on your current installation?
    I have never seen this error message before. I do not have mcPluginMgr.dll on my system and Library Manager runs without error. Are you sure that is the correct error message? Perhaps you have an incorrect registry entry!

    Hi John;

    No, I don't have any other plugins installed, but that is the error, it says it can't find it and maybe re-installing may solve it, which I have done and it doesn't

    Precompiler.exe -Unable to locate Component
    This application has failed to start because mcPluginMgr.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

    Perhaps a little more detail would be helpful.
    1 When does the error appear?
    2 Do you have the Library Manager Icon on the Toolbar?
    3 If so can you run Library Manager
    4 Is there a Pre-compiler task running in the task bar?
    5 What OS are you running - Vista or XP?

    I am running Vista Home edition, the precompiler runs on the task bar when i first launch the IDE, but it pops up that error message, and when i click OK, it quits.

    I th9ink it is because you are running on Vista.

    I don't have Vista here and I don't know of anyone who is running on Vista who has Library Manager installed.

    Perhaps someone else on the Forum who has Proton running on Vista can let me know if they have managed to get Library Manager operating under Vista.

    If have written plugins for Swordfish (which uses a similar IDE) successfully but in that case the IDE API and the Plugin packer has been modified to work with Vista.

    I think this may well end up as David Barker question.

    Hi John;

    I just removed (including folders & registry settings), re-installed, updated and re-installed the library manager and it is working now !!

    But.... I can add a new library, but when i try and select an existing library or create a new one, "library' is listed by default, but I cannot click it and open it.

    If I use the default folder and select 'Build Library' it fails and just reports 'Unable to Build Library'.

    If I create a new Folder and click OK to add it, I get a error message Access Violation 5675DB00. Read of address 5675DB0.

    :-(

    Thanks for your help

    Cheers

    PeterC

    EDIT: I have a icon in the system tray that saye Pre-Compiler Off, when I click it I get:

    Error - Library File missing or Corrupt
    Run Library Manager from
    the plug-in menu before compiling

    Can you explain further - give me a description of the Library Folder structure.
    What have you got in your library files?

    John;

    Ahh, if I manually copy the library file into the folder, I am able to build it and enable the pre-compiler.

    The function that does not work is the copying of a file from another folder, to the library manager's folder using the library manager.

    Ok - I will look into that - I suspect not many people have used that function.
