Exclamation Switch off the results window

I will use the whole screen for my programlisting.
Now everytime when I compile, the "Results" window appears with the message:
"HINT[Line 2]: Ensure that all fuses are placed in the CONFIG list, etc."
Everytime I have to click this message away!

It would be nice if this window only appears when there are errors.
(Such as it works in PIC Basic V2.1.5)

Is it possible to switch off the "Results" window?

Thumbs up Thanks, the first tip works!

The first tip works as you describes:
When I place in my code:

    DEVICE 16F628A
    DECLARE REMINDERS = OFF
    CONFIG HS_OSC... etc.
    DECLARE REMINDERS = ON
    ALL_DIGITAL = TRUE
    etc...

    This works!

    -------

    Your second tip doesn't work.

    View > Editor Option
Then unchecked the line.... Display Full Summary after Succesful Compile
but that I've tried earlier and I've tried it now again, but check or uncheck: no difference.

    -----

But I'm satisfied with your first tip! Thanks Dolci!

Can someone tell me what the next thing does?

    View > Editor Option
Then unchecked the line.... Display Full Summary after Succesful Compile.

But checking or not checking, I don't see a difference anywhere.

In the editor the results window has a red close button on the right hand top corner click this to close it. Now with the "Display Full Summary after Succesful Compile" option unchecked all the IDE will display is the number of bytes and variables used in the status bar.

If the "Display Full Summary after Succesful Compile" option is checked the window showing the full results will pop up each time after you compile.

    Angry This option doen't work!

    Hello Paul.

As I write earlier in this topic...
    It does not work!

I can check it or not, the results window appears.

Please try it by yourself and uncheck it for a couple of time.
You shall see that it still appears.

    DECLARE REMINDERS = Off
    Config ..... ect.... ect
    DECLARE REMINDERS = ON

This solution from Dolci does work, but the checkbox in View > Editor option... makes no difference, please test it by yourself.

If checked, the 'Display full summary...' option will display a full summary in the results window. Disabling this option will still give a short summary in the IDE status bar, but the results window will not be displayed.

If the results window is still being shown, it is because

    (a) errors have been generated by the compiler
    (b) warnings have been generated by the compiler
    (c) hints have been generated by the compiler

The IDE will ALWAYS report whatever the compiler gives it. It will never make any assumptions about what it should or should not display. If you want to disable what the compiler gives out, you have to instruct the compiler itself to suppress its output. From the online help, under DECLARES:

"...The compiler issues a reminder for a reason, so use this directive sparingly, and at your own peril. The REMINDERS DECLARE can be issued multiple times within the BASIC code, enabling and disabling the warning messages at key points in the code as and when required."

    Unhappy So, it can't...

    Thanks for reply, David.
The thing you've written here is indeed what happens.

    So...
Finally we're back to the original question I've asked (see the top of this topic):

I will use the whole screen for my programlisting.
Now everytime when I compile, the "Results" window appears with the message:
"HINT[Line 2]: Ensure that all fuses are placed in the CONFIG list, etc."
Everytime I have to click this message away!

It would be nice if this window only appears when there are errors.
(Such as it works in PIC Basic V2.1.5)

Is it possible to switch off the "Results" window?

The answer is thus: NO !

I may have misunderstood you, but I would say yes, you can. But you have to instruct the compiler NOT the IDE.

It would NOT be correct for the IDE to blanket suppress all warnings and hints. Some are more important than others, but YOU have to decide that. Always. You need to see them first, then switch them of by issuing the necessary REMINDER declare. That's what it is for.

    Thumbs up Answer satified David!

    Hello David.

Ok, it's all clear now to me and I think after all you are right.
I think I've to learn to program standard by all of my programs REMINDERS OFF / ON around the CONFIG settings.

Don't misunderstood me, I'm very, very satisfied with PIC Basic and it's IDE.
But if I don't ask sometimes, I never get an answer
Beside's my English is not very good, so I can write things here which I don't mean so hard.

    One observation:
The help in PIC Basic (when typing REMINDERS) talkes about TRUE or FALSE / 1 OR 0 / YES or NO.
But YES or NO must be ON or OFF (YES and NO gives an error)
