Those are very old versions, you need to update here:

Hi, its great to see you visiting our forum. Why not try Proton Compiler for FREE?

Download the FREE version of Proton Compiler, Its called Amicus18 and its available from HERE

Already using proton Compiler??? Get rid of these pesky messages... get LICENSED USER STATUS

    http://www.picbasic.org/content.php/1447

The 18F8520 has been supported for quite a while now, if you download the latest version it should work fine.

  2. If you're a Licensed user of PROTON DEVELOPMENT SUITE, apply for Licensed User Status to remove these pesky messages
and get access to additional forum areas, Beta test downloads and more!

Just look at the top of the forum page button 4 "Updates" the installer is still in beta ones that's settled they will release new CD's I'm a reseller my self and actual ship a "temp CD" with explanation and instructions for the latest installation.
Might be an idea for the other ones out there, this also helps as becoming a "full user" on the forum for download rights can take some time, this happens to often.

Unfortunately updates are a very poor area of the Proton Product

In this day and age people expect the product they purchase to be up to date if not they expect the software to check for latest version via the net.

To sell a product that has an update function that tells them they are up to date, then only if they register on a forum they can find out there is a later version is just bad practice.

I have pushed for at least when you when do an update check via the IDE (still being sold!) that it will point you to the web site page. However the task is in the hands of the IDE writer which means there is little chance of it being done ( see the Swordfish fiasco....)
