    Hi David,
does the plugin API work under the demo version of Proton? if yes, does the plugin packer work under the same version?
I would like to make a plugin for proton but I do not have the full version.

Hi, its great to see you visiting our forum. Why not try Proton Compiler for FREE?

Download the FREE version of Proton Compiler, Its called Amicus18 and its available from HERE

Already using proton Compiler??? Get rid of these pesky messages... get LICENSED USER STATUS

I don't believe the api is available under the lite version.
If it helps, the IDE is nearly identical to the SF one. I will email you info on changes. If you want me to test it for compatibility I happy to do so. You cannot use the SF plugin packer either but again I build the packer file here if you like.

    Hi John,
thank you for your proposal. But I have not seen any difference between the API for proton and the api for SF. I think it's absolutely the same.
For tests I'll be glad if you can do some tests for me, and specially to pack the plugin for me.
I think that plugin packer or any other equivalent tool should be created and made available to let us compact plugins without having to install Proton, or at least to have a special version of Proton IDE (limited in a way that it can't invoque the compiler or save files, for example...) that can let at least developpers of plugins to test their products.

The current lite version of the IDE does not have plugin support, as this was requested by Crownhill when PDS was first released. However, I believe this restriction is to be removed in the next version of PDS.

Plug-in Packer does not work in Win 7
As Dave S has reported before, Plug-In packer does not work in Win 7 - it does not recognise the location of mcp files.
Since the demise of my XP machine, I am now unable to produce distributable Plug ins.

Can I also make a plea from the heart to David B that he adds short cuts in the Open and save dialogs to the four primary directories used by a plug-in.
It is a real pain having to navigate all over the PC to pick up the required files and so easy to get wrong.

John are you using Win7 64 bit.

A temp workaround is to install Windows XP mode and install/run Proton in the virtual drive, you need Win7 professional upwards to be able to do this.

If you want a copy of my unoffical packer, which works, I will send you a copy, it does have the open options and saves setups and packages to one common location, plus multiple selection of files to add which is a must, I can now add all the linker files for PDF Now in a package.

    Dave

My computer died over the weekend and I have had to order a new one - couldn't get a replacement motherboard for my 7 year old shuttle.
As I am buying a new computer it naturally will be Win 7. I'm spending enough as it is so have gone for a Win 7 Home-Office.
I had thought of your version of the packer but I seem to remember there was an issue with the un-install.

I really wanted to prompt Dave into updating the packer. Alternatively perhaps we should drop the "official" packer and use the one which works if there are no issues with the un-install.
I am in the process of updating the plug-in section of the Wiki to group all the API tools together. We could include your version of the packer in that,

I would prefer an offical installer, less work for me.

As for the uninstall issue with my packer, I don't know the format of the uninstall mcp to recreate it for the offical uninstaller to read, I copy and modify the uninstall mcp and add it to the package but this is not ideal.
I did write an uninstaller has well which doesn't need the uninstall mcp, but am not sure if it gets replaced on start up.

    Dave

I agree an official version of the packer is by far and away the best solution.
