  1. Re: Best choice, 18F26K22 or 16F18857 for Mat/Calc. IOC Edge trigger?

I'm suprised how cheap they are, what made you pick the more expensive one?

    Do they include calibration data?
  2. Re: Best choice, 18F26K22 or 16F18857 for Mat/Calc. IOC Edge trigger?

How are you measuring wind speed?

    Re: Wrong loader version

I think that the version of loader is correct. Perhaps you're thinking of the 16bit compiler version.

Not so cheap but there's Mikroe. They have some starter boards at $20. Mikrobus looks like it could save some time.

Re: ASM Error with USART PIC 16F15325

Ok so its not that but as a workaround you could create a symbol PP_TXIF = x (where x = what ever should be tested in PIR1 - btfss PIR1,PP_TXIF).

As you said, HserOut2 compiles ok, creating...

Norm, that pretty twisted logic even for a PIC programmer.
  9. Re: Best choice, 18F26K22 or 16F18857 for Mat/Calc. IOC Edge trigger?

External interrupts on the RB0/INT0, RB1/INT1 and RB2/INT2 pins are edge-triggered. If the corresponding INTEDGx bit in the INTCON2 register is set (= 1), the interrupt is triggered by a rising edge;...

  12. Re: Best choice, 18F26K22 or 16F18857 for Mat/Calc. IOC Edge trigger?

Well the 18F26K22 will run twice as fast, which is good and you can write nicer code eg pseudo procedures.

Les didn't think highly of 18857 here and it only has 8K ROM and 1K RAM (27K22 has...

  14. Re: Getting old, need help on suitability ttl vers RS232

Tim, make sure you add ACK/NAK and timeout retry to what ever protocol you adopt, you can establish quite robust comms like that.
  15. Re: Getting old, need help on suitability ttl vers RS232

Sorry Tim I misread your original post.
  16. Re: Getting old, need help on suitability ttl vers RS232

I certainly wouldn't use TTL. I started using RS232 (as opposed to USB) lately and am really impressed by its reliability and how well it is handled by Win7. You can buy modules with drivers and a ...
