    Re: 18F47K40 Port B issue

For what it's worth, on the 18F14K50 it seems (some ?) of the A/D's are enabled by default

    Bcf ANSEL.7 ' disable A/D cha 7 to make portC3 a digital input

    Not what you expect...
  2. Re: HAs anyone used the TSL1401CL linear sensor?

Tim, sometimes I worry about you. You do the weirdest projects :-)

That tube has a relative large diameter, is it possible to float a subject with colour on it that would give a better definition...
  3. Re: HAs anyone used the TSL1401CL linear sensor?

Cute sensor ! And a nice range to near IR as well. With a few reference coloured LED's you may even detect colours, or with a filter read only certain colours.

I had a brief look at the data...

I dont belive it ! Re: Back in time looking good !

I was just thinking how easy the new-to-pics guys have it.
Remember the first pics with the windows in them ? If the program wasn't working you levered it out of it's socket, sit it in the UV...

    Re: Suggestions for pic microcontroller

When choosing a micro you should have an idea of the pins, memory etc, iow what can the micro do, and see which peripherals it has. Also, is it suitable for most other projects you may want to do,...

I dont belive it ! Re: Back in time looking good !

Someone just sent me this... ok so it's not really for us, it's for old people, like our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers.

When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied,...

    Re: Pt100

The correct name is PT100, and it is supposed to be 100R at 0oC. If it's value is off it may be damaged.

It is basically the same as a thermistor, and you get a PT1000 as well. They are supposed...

  14. Re: Advice needed - multiplexing 7 segment displays.

While the displays are discussed I want to ask if there is a shorter way of allocating the values to write to the display than this ?
To explain, In the program I allocate values to each segment,...
  15. Re: Advice needed - multiplexing 7 segment displays.

That's it, the same functionality. The 4094 is a bit cheaper here than the 74 595 and unfortunately they are not pin compatible.

    Re: 3D printer. Yey!!!!

Yes, the parts are all quite strong, just depends what you do with them. The part for the pellet gun looks like an omega sign, it is when you bend (force) it open to fit around the...

    Re: 3D printer. Yey!!!!

Did you get the printer Les ?

I have also bought aCreality Ender 3 recently and it works well, not one hickup so far.
PLA is fine and works easy but is not very temperature tolerant, and parts...
  20. Re: Advice needed - multiplexing 7 segment displays.

The very first program I wrote was a 3 digit multiplexed display, and I'm still using the same today for a basic volt and amp meter. There however is a problem, and that is it limits the pic to do...
  21. Re: Update on procedures in the Proton BASIC Compiler

  25. Re: What kind of speed controller principale/ code do electic bikes controllers use?

Actually there is a 3rd way, and that is as I have mentioned previous, and that is to make one inductor of them all. You need one bridge to drive forward or backward. You use two or three analog...
  26. Re: What kind of speed controller principale/ code do electic bikes controllers use?

    Hi BA,

There are two ways you can go.

The first is using a 3phase pwm controller from Infinion (they also include International Rectifier). This would be my first choice as all the protection...
