    A Nifty Chip !

The TOSHIBA TLP590B consists of an aluminum galium arsenide infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a series connected photodiode array in a six lead plastic DIP package.

TLP590B is suitable for MOS FET gate driving.

Suitable for driving a FET in a high side drive configuration, optically isolate and makes a good switch.
It is not fast enough for switching control, but work excellent for DC motor bridge direction control.
Timing can be about 5ms to be safe. Since the FET gets switched ON or OFF there is very little heat
in the FET to worry about.

Use a single TLP590B for driving a logic level FET, or two in series to drive standard FET's.
The LED's can be driven in series for 5V PICŪ, in parallel for 3V3 PICŪ.

A basic H-bridge that works. The motor voltage is limited by the FET's
The switching is smooth and very little spikes and noise is generated.
