    Beginners should know about some of the problems that can be encountered when doing floating point arithmetic. The comments on the linked page apply to any computer program and, in the case of PDS, result from the need to store complicated numbers in just 4 bytes.

    Floating point numbers are not necessarily the most accurate way to calculate within your program, although they are often the most convenient.
    The ability to do calculations with Floating Point numbers is one of PDS's many strengths.

    However, there are ways to overcome the problem with floats.
