Download Proton Compiler and compile for FREE

    If the devices PIC12F1552 , PIC12F1572, PIC16F1614, PIC16F1826, PIC16F1829, PIC16F18323, PIC16F877, PIC16F877A, PIC16LF1829, PIC18F14K50, PIC18F25K20, PIC18F25K22, PIC18F26K20, PIC18F26K22, PIC18F452, PIC18F45K20, PIC18F45K22, PIC18F46K20, or PIC18F46K22 are used, the compiler will not ask for the USB key. This means that the full compiler is now the recommended compiler for use with the Amicus18 board. The same applies for devices PIC24EP128MC202 , PIC24FJ64GA002 , PIC24FJ64GA004 , PIC24HJ128GP502 , PIC24F04KL101 , and dsPIC33FJ128GP802 . However, Proton still requires a USB key for other 8-bit and 24-bit devices.

The compiler installer can be downloaded from here:

AMICUS is an excellent way to get familiar with the Proton compiler.

The Amicus18 IDE provides the user with
    • Proton Basic source code editor - with colour syntax highlighter
    • Compiler - Full version of Proton Basic for the PICŪ Microcontroller with full integration to MPLABŪ for debugging, if required.
    • Programmer - automated programming of the Amicus Board - no external programmer required.

The Amicus18tm IDE has been designed to maximize programmer productivity by providing highly integrated and intuitive interface to the tools required to develop on the Amicus 18 hardware. The Amicus IDE provides many features for authoring, modifying, compiling, deploying and debugging your programmes. Your program can be compiled while being written, providing instant feedback on syntax errors. This results in an uninterrupted workflow from writing the program code through compiling to downloading the program to the Amicus hardware.

Comprehensive documentation and a helpful and friendly support environment, make using Amicus18 an easy and enjoyable experience.
