Hi.
The old link from downloading Proton PIC Basic LITE doesn't work anymore.
What's the new link?
People want to try Proton PIC Basic and are mailing me constantly that the link doesn't work on my site www.picbasic.nl (http://www.picbasic.nl)
(Not a good idea to delete links... also the old link to the forum http://www.picbasic.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=70 isn't working anymore...)

But, back to the basic question: What's the link for downloading the Proton PIC Basic LITE?

I think its now the Amicus Software thatís classed as the lite version

I was trying to find a description of Amicus to see what the differences are between it and PDS, and couldn't find it. Has anybody seen a comparison or feature chart?

Hi Frizie,

The Amicus is the replacement for the lite and it is free. Have a look at it here

There is no difference Proton and Amicus in commands, compiled code etc

However there are some cool includes added into the Amicus package that are worth looking at.

The great thing about Amicus is that its a fixed PIC so you can write code that does not have to worry about working with any other devices. If it works on that pic then job done.

seems to be a couple of bugs.

Did you use Internet explorer? People are reporting issues with Firefox.

Did you download and run from the saved file, on one of my PC's this failed but running instead of saving from the web site worked...
and just to mess with your mind, my Laptop refused to load from the web but did load from a saved file...

there are a list of 'Mirrors' somewhere on the site I have tried them all today as a test (run directly from dowload)... and all bar one were successful for me.

http://myamicus.co.uk/showthread.php?29-Download-mirror-sites&highlight=mirror

try one of the options. again and best of luck.

the one I couldn't get to work, was the 2Shared mirror site. I couldn't find a way to request the amicus file on that site... I am probably jus blind as a bat...

Maybe I'll try next weekend the other options...

There seems to be a number of copies floating around, only some of which actually work...

goto the Myamicus.co.uk website, and click on the download button. You should get about a 44MB file. If it doesn't give a roughly 44MB file, try downloading again. I donwloaded from this particular mirror several times and it has always orked

Eek is spelled with two 'e's ?

At those prices for addons, I think my first addon would be an up-to-date top of the range PC or laptop, which usually comes with all those other options built in. Or is it April already?

Hi Bill, SeeMos,

try this URL!

http://www.crownhill.co.uk/product.php?prod=2208

You should have enough change out of the £1000.00 to buy a couple of decent lap tops as well!

When they get the boards they will issue the real price for the relevant board.

Yeah!

That's just a Place holder,
The hardware is not orderable yet...

Relax...

I was going to mention Scotsmen and finances in the same paragraph... but Yorkshiremen are worse...

Even our local bank was once known as "The Penny Bank"!

YUp! and I'm a reformed Scouser...

I escaped years ago...

I guess an ethernet card fo a grand is out of your price range...

what price were you hoping for?

do you have a task for an ethernet solution at the moment...

I would like to look at it... but I think it's outside of my capabilities.
