Previously my USB dongle used to work with any socket ,but now it can be activated only in two out of the six that I have in my PC.

All the ports are OK as my pen drive can work in any of the six.

Windows problem??

Hi Shantanu,

It could be possible that the driver reserve (flag) that USB port for the dongle. I'm sure if you connect it to another USB port and restart the PC that it would accept it then.

Try it.

You could use this USB utility to have a look at all the USB drivers and activity on your machine.

Stick your dongle in and have a look under device manager and hardware. The dongle should show up. if nothing happens then reinstall drivers from there. You could have something on thour PC that might be clashing with the dongle driver.

Just passing it on, the appreciation goes to Steve (Mister_E) who first posted the link on this forum.

it has proved very useful for removing old drivers.
